Montagnard Evangelical Church is one of the largest Protestant denominations of Vietnam. It is a church of Degar (Montagnards), which are a severely persecuted ethnic minority of several million persons. Most Christian churches of the Montagnards have been banned. Montagnard Christians increasingly come under pressure by security forces. Montagnard Evangelical Church is one of the neo-charismatic churches.
